POWER EXCHANGE CENTRAL EUROPE (PXE) is a subsidiary of the Prague Stock Exchange and part of the CEE Stock Exchange Group (CEESEG). PXE was founded in 2007 and facilitates trading in electricity to be supplied within the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. Since February 2010 it has been possible to trade in Czech futures and, from April 2012, in Slovak and Hungarian futures, with financial settlement. The PXE system can also be used submit offers for the sale and purchase of hourly supplies in the Czech Republic, which form the subject of the OTE Daily Market. For its trading activities, POWER EXCHANGE CENTRAL EUROPE utilises the Trayport GlobalVision platform, the most widespread commodities trading system, used in more than fifty markets across the world.

Professional organisations

CZ Biom - Czech Biomass Association CZ Biom - Czech Biomass Association

The Czech Biomass Association is a non-governmental, non-profit, professional organisation with the primary goal of supporting and promoting the use of biomass as a renewable raw material, the development of phytoenergy, compost and the use of biogas and liquid biofuels in the Czech Republic. The Association has six specialist divisions: Biogas (headed by Adam Moravec), Liquid Biofuels (headed by Jiří Trnka), Composting and Biowaste (headed by Josef Šrefl), Pellets and Boilers (headed by Tomáš Šimek), Producers of Biomass (headed by Jan Saglena), Producers of Energy and Electricity from Biomass (headed by Richard Horký). A number of specialists, entrepreneurs and other entities active in the field of biomass use also contribute to the Association’s activities. CZ Biom collaborates with the European Biomass Association (AEBIOM), is a member of the European Compost Network (ECN) and the World Biomass Association (WBA).

The Czech Wind Energy Association (ČSVE) is a professional organisation for both physical and legal entities active in the use of wind energy, or who have an interest in this field. The membership of the Association consists of operators of wind power stations, with many years of experience of operation in the Czech Republic, experts with a scientific interest in the field and members of the wider public with an interest in the sector. The goal of the Association is to support the use of wind energy, primarily on the territory of the Czech Republic, on the basis of the latest scientific, technical and economic findings and in accordance with the principles of civic society. The ČSVE was founded in the city of Jihlava in 1994. Since September 1999 has been a member of the Association for Renewable Energy Sources and since March 2001 has been a member of the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA).
